That's bullshit!... No one deserves to be shot at, or blown up.

EDIT: There are better alternatives to killing everyone, people are just too lazy to do anything about it.

Wrong. Afghanistan was and still is a narco state. We are still taking about Afghanistan?

The tribal nature of the place, warlordism, lack of a functioning government and hotch-potch of ethnic groups would suggest it is far from being a "country", as we would regard a nation state.

Ergo solving problems through politics was never an option in the first place. Unless you count our friends in Pakistan.

    @ Nighthawk.

I'm not judging you, my questions just tend to be interrogative sometimes.

    .. For having belief?

Why should Afghanistans hindered politics have an affect on anyone living elsewhere?

Because there was no functioning government. Pick your warlord.

    There's choices and there's choices.

I wouldn't judge someone else's too much if I were you.

Do they have a functioning government now?

Will you describe what a functioning government should look like?

They were my government's enemies ... I had no personal beef with them. Ironically, I found I had more in common with some of the prisoners we captured than I did with my leaders. A very eye-opening experience.

Ironically, the Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the use of federal troops for law enforcement in the U.S. That was drilled into us in officer school. Of course, that has been ignored since Bush Jr. came into office. Strange that what's good for other countries is not good for us. Also, I believe the national guard was originally designed to be a protective militia for defense of the country ... not for fighting foreign wars. That is done all the time now as well.

No worries. You ask some difficult questions that can use answers ... or at least attempts at answers. Good dialog.

So in other words, a 300 year old political concept that was conjured up by British loyalists...
