    Default 2000's Living History

The 2000ís, the noughties didnít really figure as all that naughty. 911 saw tragic lives lost in terrorism, as the west declared war on terrorism. Economic recession kicked in and we all got scared of bird flu. The first black President, and a crisis in Air travel. Britney Spears singing career took off, and Celebrity culture took off as we all went crazy for reality TV. Hip hop made room for post-grunge, emo, electropop and synthpop. We saw more feminie power with the Pussy Cat Dolls, Sugarbabes, and Girls Allowed. Michael Jackson was put on trial as was OJ Simpson. Rise of Pop Idol and the X factor and Who wants to be a millionaire.

The purpose of this thread is to share music from that decade, lyrics, news items, personal recollections, fashions and trends, anything you think is typical of the era. Think wide and allow yourself a bit of creative freedom.

    Too true.

It's like in 2000, we all thought we'd figure out a name for it eventually, and we would, we really planned to... but now it's 2009, almost 2010, and we never got around to it.

I think the wars, the economy, Bush being what he was, all of Bush's "enterouge" and blackwater and haliburton, 9/11, the death of Rock, the rise of the IPOD, the conflux of stupid reality shows, the debates over Global Warming and Intelligent Design in school, Obama, Katrina, celebrity scandals like Anne Nicole Smith, Tiger Woods, nobody reads books any more, Newspapers are dying, FOX news, the Sarah Palin Debacle, the demonization of Al Gore and John carry, idiots like Joe the Plumber, and finaly, the communities created on the internet, this is going to be a VERY impactful and well rememberd decade.
