It's funny you mention that, because there was something about that that I wanted to bring up in my last post and forgot.

I was in an off licence (liquor store) the other day where the owners had two sixteenth century muskets on the wall. And yes, they were beautiful, and I was absolutely fascinated by them.

The "Desert Eagle", on the other hand...

I can't say as I'm particularly convinced by the "object of curiosity, beauty and interest" thing...

By logical extension, you could use that to say people have a right to keep vintage atom bombs in their garage

Gun control laws should be strict. Most people on the world are idiots who can't be trusted to be responsible with deadly force. Basically everybody who wants to own a gun should not be allowed to have one.

As for the whole crime going down thing. I'm not sure about that, but gun control sure as hell isn't malicious to safety!

But... the A-Bombs are ugly, I would much rather have an H-Bomb.

Seriously though, guns are a work of art. The woodwork is amazing. I keep my guns squeaky clean and shiny. Ironically guns can be a type of life-insurance because unlike other things, they do not depreciate- they increase in value the older they get. Depending how you treat them of course.

It's this attitude that is the reason people SHOULD have guns, to protect themselves and loved ones.

How are we to resist the government should it do something unthinkable? Do you really think Hitler would have risen to power as quickly as he did if he hadn't disarmed the Jewish population? No. Would we have won the American Revolution if guns were banned to colonists? No. How then, can you justify the banning of guns?

Granted, this isn't in the UK, but it makes my point: Do you think there would be nearly as many casualties at Ft. Hood if soldiers were allowed to carry their sidearms on base? No. That dude would have gotten laid out... and that would have saved what, 30 lives or something?
