Well, as fine as it is for you to have that opinion, I'm not entirely sure how it's going to make a difference, other than you just wishing and hoping it would happen.

And how do you propose they do that, may I ask?

Umm, exactly how? All I see is you asking for an effect. I don't see any means of getting there. What does one do to "cowboy up", so to speak?

When did I ever say I was for gun control?

If anything, I've been arguing for a living Constitution.

Mind control? Can you control other people's thoughts?

Apparently not. So you're going to have to elaborate on your fantastic plan.

Does it involve mentally ill people receiving adequate psychiatric care? I'm guessing no.

If you look into the evolution of our (US) culture, you'll notice shooting rampages have not always existed. Guns have been prevalent in our culture from the beginning. So the explanation to your question would be of a sociological nature. The 1960s created a victim mentality that has permeated our culture. Like I said, if you look into the reasons these killers give you'll see a lot of anger and blame. People need to accept that equality does not exist outside of math and move on.

Why do you think there are rampage killings?

Psychosis, mostly. People with pre-existing mental illness pushed over the edge by a staunchly competitive and overly industrialized world. Something that has also changed since the 1960's is the feeling of community people once had in their towns - people have become more and more isolated and cut off from each other in the past several decades.

WTF? The '60s were about the complete opposite - that you don't have to be a victim anymore, and if your rights are being denied to you, that you should speak up and do something about it.

If anything, the victim mentality comes from right-wing authoritarians who believe that the entire world is a dangerous place, everyone is out to get them, and that if they don't follow everything their leaders tell them to, even violently, that their whole world will collapse around them.
