What do you think, would he write a book about it?
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

If you don't agree about my MBTI type, you can complain about it here. I've had plenty of people telling me I'm something else, in my reputation box. That's annoying.

It sounds inconvienient, but I imagine he just got used to it. People can get used to all sorts of things.

Granted, I'm sure there were times when he very much wanted to connect to others, but when you can't... you just learn to adjust. Or you go insane. Depends on how much you can find to think about on your own that interests you. He apparently had a very active mind.

I do wonder what it would be like, but I'd still rather not go through it due to the finite span of human life. If I were immortal, I might consider having such an experience just to see if I learned anything from it.

I think I would go insane from a lack of mental stimulation.

It seems odd to me that he would be able to communicate so well.

A man trapped in a 23-year 'coma' was conscious all along and a Republican.

    An aide guiding his hand...

This kind of facilitated communication was shown to be bunk when this technology was all the rage for severely autistic patients around a decade ago. In these scenarios it was the aide communicating, even though that finding was a surprise to the aide him/herself.

It's the same reason why ouija boards will always be popular. Facilitated communication FTW!

The medical team has a high burden of evidence to prove this patient is doing any communicating at all--more description and detail than "they did special tests" and assuming that's enough that we'll take their word for it.

It's questionable. I would like to know if anyone else besides that therapist has "assisted" his finger movements.
