At least as far as the United States is concerned, most of the economic and academic statistics on Jews concern "white" Jews, irrespective of religious background. "White" Jews are the most economically advantaged group of people in the United States, so it would follow that they not only have an advantage getting into privates schools, but that they also have an advantage once they're there.

Wow, it's great to know these things. I feel so much better about my chances now

But surely there are not enough Jews to fill in all the spaces at these colleges to make everyone else at a disadvantage? Unlike normal privileged Whites, there are not a whole lot of them.

The expression "normal privileged whites" makes me laugh.

I apologize, do they prefer to be called "WASPs"? Or is that not P.C., either?

I suppose so. I guess nobody gets into college because they are clever, only because they are Jewish or impress the dean by saying they are Native American/Black. That's kind of sad.

Well, I suppose it depends on perspective. I wouldn't consider anybody born into "privilege" to be "normal."

The moment somebody gains privilege, I think they stop being normal.

Take the kid who was born heir to a family that owns land across the US, Canada and the UK. A family that also owns much of the primary resources such as lumber, timber and mining operations. That also has a portfolio in software and banking/finance. This seems of the typical privilege, to me. The moment somebody gains privilege, I think they stop being normal.
I think I was using the word "normal" not in the sense of privilege, but in the sense of being not Jews, as in Jews being abnormal.

However, I am apparently one of the most privileged classes in the US and I have none of those things. Should I?
