Yes, the first person I know to write about it was Ainslie Mears in his book, "Relief Without Drugs".

Yes, Ainslie Mears was a Melbourne psychiatrist who visited the East and was impressed by Eastern religious practices. And he distilled them down to the practice of muscle relaxation leading to the relaxation of the mind.

And if you are introverted you will find Ainslie Mears speaks directly to you.

And yes it is good to get into the rhythm of practice and recovery.

So we practice one day and recover the next. So we practice every second day.

And the recovery day is just as important as the practice day. As on the recovery day we integrate what we have learnt on the practice day into our bodies and our minds.

In other words, we digest on the recovery day what we have practised the day before.

But most important, alternating a practice day with a recovery day sets up a rhythm that becomes second nature.

And after our recovery day we are refreshed and relaxed and ready and hungry for our next practice.

And so you might say we eat our way to happiness.

Second night listening to the audio numerous times in a row before going to bed. I am relaxed.
"How can I be, all I want to be,
When all I want to do is strip away these stilled constraints
And crush this charade, shred this sad, masquerade"
