Exclamation Global Warming. GET THIS STRAIGHT!

    *READ BEFORE VOTING*

This is a poll to see how pervasive the acceptence of global warming/climate change is on this forum, and how it is perceived.

I am fairly certain all six choices should encompass all possible views. Read the choices very carefully before you select, so that you do not pick the wrong answer.

Only pick the "I have no idea which is true" option if you have no leanings at all. If you suspect one of the other choices is true, but don't feel "sure", that doesn't matter. Pick the one you lean toward anyway. The 6th option is only for the totally undecided/indifferent.

And for the purpose of this poll, threatening means "does enough harm for you to be concerned and think others should be concerned", and man-made means "at least 25% of the effects exist only because of human activity".

    Now vote.
    Go to sleep, iguana.

Seems like common sense to me that if you create chemicals which can alter and/or destroy human bodies, animals, and plants, and you dump pollution into the water, that YES it could obviously alter the entire atmosphere in large enough amounts over decades of emissions.

how significant is this question really? i feel that this question, that can hardly be answered with certainty, especially by almost all of us , is often abused to distract us from the unquestionable fact, that developing sustainability is absolutely urgent, for all the other reasons.

we need to develop sustainability, and not distorting the atmosphere any more will be a long term side-effect, of all the changes and inventions, that are up to the task.

but can we get anywhere without a third world war?

btw: no option for cow farts?

My question would be not if humanity is making an impact, but the severity of that impact. There's more than enough evidence that hey, pollution changes things. And humanity certainly puts out its fair share. But how well does the world absorb, recycle, or otherwise adapt?

I am afraid that only people who think that Global warming is happening and is both threatening and man-made. actually bother with voting on this poll. (at least for now)

I voted the second, even though I used an "average" approach, in the sense that probably averaging all over the world global warming is not damaging. However, if the trend persists, it will definitely be damaging for some specific states i.e the Maldives will drown underwater.

The Maldives, and many other ocean states like Nauru and Palau. In fact, I think most of Micronesia and Melanesia will cease to exist in 50-100 years if this trend continues.

You missed out the option for its happening for natural reasons, but humans are most likely making it happen stronger/faster and it is threatening.

    Fail poll, nulled

Anthropogenic, threatening global warming has the best PR campaign.
