How is it irrational to oppose something you don't like and think is bad for posterity? As for the Democrats, blame the (dominant) left-wing that is trying to implement a radical agenda that much of their party doesn't like. If they pursued more modest goals, they could get things done (either good or bad).

I don't think that accurately describes what the Republicans are doing. I believe their goal is to make the opposition fail, and that is the logic behind it all. It's not about policy. They just want to thwart the Obama and the Democrats, and this seems reinforced by the fact that they've done very little to actually develop alternative policies.

    Radical left-wing:
    -noun
A group of policies instated by the rest of the developed world decades in the past.

I don't blame the Democrats for being "radical". I blame them for not using their strength or knowing what's at stake. Politically, I think the blue dogs have no idea what they're doing. They're fucking themselves.

Seriously though, that's a heap of shit. Award ceremonies are so irrelevant now. The Grammies I could understand, but don't those noble prize people have any standards? he hasn't done anything yet! I mean, he saved the world from the Republicans, but Billary could have done that!
But then who would save the world from Hillary?

And yes, its Hillary, not Billary, because...

It would be more correct to say that the blue dogs are being fucked (over) by the left-wing of the Democratic party; they can't support such policies without losing their seats (and, just perhaps, violating their own principles), while their seats are nonetheless put at risk because they indirectly empower the national Democratic leadership. I also think you are vastly underestimating the degree to which Republican opposition to proposed policies is based on the policies in question (its much easier to be united in opposition to something than in support of any specific combination of alternatives, as the Democrats themselves are being reminded of right now....).

I've to quote a joke, I've heard today:

'Obama was awarded Nobel Peace prize in the appreciation of the fact that USA is fighting ONLY two wars right now.'

Now now, maybe we can see this nobel peace prize as a fine prediction/prophecy that Obama will be doing something to bring about peace!

Because as of yet not much has been accomplished :P
