You've got to be kidding. No one could possibly be this naive.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    flock to VAGINA!

    Movie quotes...

It's not reasonable to say that all French people are okay with sex slavery. That's like saying all Americans are hillbillies that like to shoot guns.

The few bad apples don't have to infect the bunch. Maybe he's a sick man in our eyes. That doesn't mean all of France has his views.

They'll figure out what to do with him.

Yeah, really. Sure, perhaps he truthfully uses the term "boys" loosely perhaps to mean 18 year olds. But he's excited by sexual slavery? That shouldn't be something a cultural minister is proud to admit in public. It's like "Hi! I'm a sadist who immensely enjoys the exploitation and pain of people less fortunate than myself!" Ummm...

This is NOT typical French cultural behavior. :1377: Many French people are Roman Catholic. Even the ones who are atheists aren't all a bunch of sickos who go around having sex with underage sex slaves in Asian countries.

As far as I know, the French are just more open about nudity and public displays of affection. I'm not certain how that got translated in the United States to "sadistic perverts."

Well, who isn't excited about slavery?

LOL & I highly doubt "boys" means 18 years old and older. Especially since he goes to Thailand. Gee, what is Thailand known for? Oh yea, child prostitutes. It's no big deal right?

This whole affair has nothing to do with paedophilia.

The quotes taken from Mr Mitterand's book were purposefully dragged out of context, and even falsified by the leader of our far right's party, Marine Le Pen.

1/ This is a partly fictionalized novel. The book was sold as a novel, not as a "real" autobiography.

2/ Mrs Le Pen deliberately added the word "young" in front of "boy". And the meaning of it, at least in French, is completely different. Because a "garon" here can refer to a 18-25 years old adult, while "un jeune garon" can obviously not.
