Eh. The climate has been in a state of change since there's been a climate, so climate change is not an issue. That's a given.

'Global warming'? Well, the last decade or so of records don't really clearly support a definite average temp increase; there might be a longer-term overal trend that I'll buy.

But the real question is how much impact on the climate has been caused by humans... and I think there's still some room for debate on that question.

This post shows us how people react when they are entirely ignorant of the issue we are discussing here. Obviously, Billy's answer is not based on new challenging scientifical datas, and we can presume he's not a scientist working on that specific issue, or a person that has the slightest notion of what he's really talking about.

When people are ignorant and/or have no options left, they rely on IDEOLOGY, not facts. They solely base their choice on ideology (=identity), and nothing else.

    Fascinating.

So, are you ABSOLUTELY sure this issue is only about politics?
Could you bet your hand on it?

You showed an effect, but offered no evidence of the cause.
Are you sure you know what cause and consequence are?

For instance, take Science and Politics. Where is the cause, and where is the consequence, according to you?

Your hope is to discredit your opponents, while keeping the integrity of those who support your position intact. That's futile because the issue has become so political.
Is this a way to confess that you're not a scientist, or that you lack knowledge on that issue?

So why are you still arguing? Who do you think you can persuade? Yourself?

Stop pretending that scientists understand climate science. They don't. No one can predict the future of the climate. All predictions are tainted.
Are you aware that science is only about prediction?

Are you telling us we should reject reason and the age of enlightenment, since "all predictions are tainted" (and hence, useless)?

You will have to excuse me for being alarmed, its just that our president is going to sign a document that strips away more American freedom then has done in 100s of years since the civil war. And its going to cost trillions.

But lets keep debating whether or not global warming is an issue, he can just sign off in the mean time right? Dipshit.

Due to the fact that this retarded polarized argument is STILL going on, I'd like to reiterize my earlier points.

    - Both sides are wrong
    - Climate change exists; it has always existed since before we existed, or we wouldn't exist in the first place
    - Climate change is cyclical, but also capable of being affected by adverse factors
    - CO2 does virtually nothing, and is not a true greenhouse gas
    - There are a wealth of OTHER things we're pumping into the air that are dangerous
    - Go to Mexico city and tell me whot colour the sky is and then say we have no effect on our atmosphere
    - We're due for a major shift in climate at a rapid pace relatively soon, how soon we're not sure
    - It'll probably be an ice age as we're overdue for one as it is
    - We may be speeding up the process, or we may be inadvertently slowing it down; we have no clue honestly which way we're swinging here
    - More research is required to actually know how the atmosphere and climate actually works because we literally only have the most vague of a grasp on the concept as it is right now, and there's not a single accurate working model for long term predictions
    - Common sense should be used regardless of whether the lack of it would kill the planet or not
    - FFS it saves money to put solar panels on yeur roof or a tiny windmill! Stop whining about whether it's necessary to save the environment, it doesn't matter, just do it because it's stupid not to

That being said, yeu're all still wrong, and should really just stop fighting.

Also, it has been turned to a political issue, and yeu should know better than to trust politicians and tv show hosts. Seriously, do yeu HONESTLY expect these to be the best sources of information? Yeu don't trust a word they say on any other topic so why the blind faith now?

Anyways, quit the "zomg my side is the right one!" bickering before yeu all get a communal SLAP.

Its not really about sides anymore. Its a political legislative issue. They're going to rape our economies with massive taxes as soon as our leaders sign the Copenhagen treaty. I would be perfectly happy to see a massive scientist duke out if they're willing to stall the Copenhagen treaty until we have come to a final conclusion on mans involvement in the climate change theory. But they are not going to do that, the UN wants Europe and the United States money and they aren't going to stop until they get it.

    Look up "climate debt"
