So I was reading The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as you do, and it occurred to me, it's a document speaking mostly to those who seek power rather than a description of what's right or wrong in individuals. It doesn't seem actually to have much to say about the individual at all.

The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights is similarly aimed at the construction of society rather than the individual. Perhaps The Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is better.

But then, I suppose this is the way it must be: these are universal declarations and international covenants, not philosophical discussions.

So, your human rights have been decided. Do you accept them?
