I believe we do have to take personal responsibility for our health. Perhaps the doctor was a bit overzealous in forbidding employees from eating fried bits of dough, but his message is pretty damn accurate.

The main reason he was fired is because local authorities were impacted monetarily because of their investment in the donut business. His message was on target. Everything in moderation, or else get off the couch and work off that donut.

I disagree. Donuts don't equal death. And people need to keep their noses out of other people's business.

He sounds like a bit of a Nazi, even if he was correct.

Anything in moderation is fine, imo. A doughtnut every so often isn't going to kill anyone.

It's one thing to believe a certain way, or even educate others on your beliefs.. it's a whole'nother can of worms to do what this guy was doing. I'm glad he got knocked off of his high horse. Some people just can't handle power.

The guy is a doctor. It's his business to know what his patient's diets consist of, and his duty to inform them of the risk in eating processed food.

OP: Obesity shouldn't be normalized under any circumstances, but he could've chosen nicer(?) words for overweight body parts. I expect a doctor to tell their patients they're digging their own graves with a fork. As for the tiff with dunkin donuts, he's retarded.

    +1

Unless one has mental disability, most adults already know that eating donuts is less than healthy, they don't need the dramatics. Either they are going to abstain or not.

Edit: But goodness, a man smart enough to make it through medical school should understand the way the world works, he used a corporate name brand to make his point, if he had just stuck to donut alone he likely wouldn't have been run out of business.

Well, Florida is one of the least healthy states in the US, and the health field does rely on a certain amount of social activism from health professionals in order to progress.

So while he could have used smarter language and tactics, he wasn't doing a negative thing.

Who wants to bet he was an ENTJ?

That way of thinking is SO Te. I mean, on one hand, he was accurate, but the problem is that he unfairly defamed a specific company who wasn't doing any more wrong than any other donut manufacturer. If he'd had a little more Fe, he'd have known to avoid using a corporate name/meme rather than the generic term "donuts."

He sounds like the kind of guy you appreciate in private for their honesty, but who you wouldn't want to be seen with in public for fear of embarrassment.
