    Mental. Illness. According to the DSM standards, approx. 20% of people have at least a mild form of some illness (incl. depression and such illnesses).

    This is extreme, but a good reminder to ourselves to inquire further if we think someone is mentally ill because people can suffer untold consequences from the mentally ill that are far and away ill.

    I wouldn't be surprised if methamphetamine psychosis played a part in this. San Antonio, where this happened, does happen to have a huge meth market.

    Was thinking/wondering the same thing upon reading the article. I wondered if drugs played a part, but it wasn't mentioned in the article.

    Chances are, in whatever state of mind she was in, she wasn't aware that what she was doing was wrong. That's disturbing.
