It's understandable that she got a lot of scrutiny during her run. I'm talking more in terms of what the media has been up to since her presidential bid.

I'm not a conservative, but I feel kind of bad for her. I don't think they were entirely fair to her.

I really liked her attitude for some reason. I guess even among your adversaries, you can find people worthy of respect.

I am 99% sure that she was NOT driven out of office, in any way. It was a strategic maneuver. So let's not be too hasty in feeling sorry for her.

Sarah Palin resigns as Alaska's governor, raising speculation on 2012 presidential run | World news | guardian.co.uk

I'm guessing either of these two things:
    1. Presidential run (which will fail; her niche is very small indeed), or
    2. Oprah-style talk show.
Either one would get her lots of press, and she seems to like press (be it good or bad).

    Lul.

"But Palin also hinted at continuing political ambitions when she repeated a quote she attributed to general Douglas MacArthur: "We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction.""

Here is another quote by McArthur that might resonate with Ms Palin:

"In war, there is no substitute for victory."

    That's actually kind of sad...

Another Macarthur quote (irony alert): "Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul."

Of course, I'd be okay with her quitting were it not for the fact that... she isn't going to go away.

    p.s. another good article:

i'd say it's gotta be the embarassment on her part... she's such a mockery, she pretty much satires herself everytime shes speaks. I dunno if that's a talent or to be respected, but it sure is outstanding to observe

If it changes who runs for president in 2012 it affects us. Or possibly more to the point, if it frees her up to be even more annoying and in the spotlight, that will affect us.
