If you want to know which camps the war will be divided, it is always the west vs the east

the west being united states and europe and japan

the east being china, russia, india

but russia china india and japan all have different strategic interests, the two countries that share the same contient cannot be allies for along.

Too many variables with little data given... so I vote for Greenland. It's about time for global Inuit supremacy.

Even if you deride the topic as stupid, there's alot more you can do than just wine and complain. At least you can derive an analysis of each country , and which country would be more likely to side with which.

The United states have the most technological lead currently
China has the most economic and population lead
India will have most population lead
Russia has large territory, lots of strategic resources and a sizeable population
it is also extremely difficult to invade

And I doubt United states will be the superpower in the near future, china is going to overtake the united states soon in terms of economics and wealth.

Too many variables with little data... so I vote for Greenland. It's about time for global Inuit supremacy.
there are also a lot of variables when you chess or Shogi, but there is always one clear emerging winner.

I want to know what the fuck broke up NATO in this scenario before I can answer because its a defense pact involving multiple options in this poll - what in Dante's hell happened to the best and strongest military alliance in the world? piss to the wind? why/how?

NATO is just the United States and Europe. But I doubt that Europe and United states share the same common interests unless both of them are threatened and forced to become a western bloc. Europe has been showing a lot of independence lately,

This scenario is actually alot more simple than the scenario in europe during the 19-20th century. Back then europe has so many competing powers you don't really know which one will emerge as the most powergful in the end. There is france, spain, britain, netherlands, Prussia, Austrian empire, russia.

then there is sweden and the ottoman turks that play a lesser role. So if you say there are too many variables, I think you people are just not using your brain.

    The question is -

    Who holds the high ground?

And it is only the US who is going for the highest of the high ground.

Yes, the US has resolved to establish a permanent base on the Moon.

And part of that base will be military.

And quite sensibly no other power will be allowed to establish a military base on the Moon.

The Moon Base will be impregnable and yet once a day will overseer every point on the Earth's surface.

There is no higher ground - so this is the end point of the Great Game.

In 220 BC Archimedes said, "Give me a place to stand, and a lever long enough, and I will move the Earth".

And in the 21st Century the US will move the whole Earth from the Moon.

We will all feel the Earth move and all we have to do is lie back and think of England.

Even if the United States wasn't fighting with NATO backing (which I suspect they would actually be fighting with), they still have Korea (South), Japan, Australia, Israel, and Egypt, among other more recent allies

In my judgment, the following non-US allies have a chance at competing on the global stage:
    China
    India
    Russia
    (and potentially North Korea)

If any of those three sided with the United States, the opposing bloc has no chance of defeating the US+allies bloc.
If a deaf INFP falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

    ^ see now he's thinking.....

I think India would side with someone quickly, they basically HAVE to, but who? if cultural ties are any indication, they would side with UK/US, bringing the match to a quick close

    hmmm.....interesting....

The final winner I see is either Russia or China for various reasons.

Europe will mostly likely going to fight russia, or these two will merge together.

There is going to be 4 power blocs

The north american power bloc (Canada US)
the east asia power bloc (China and korea)
    The europe power bloc '
    and the african power bloc
    and the indian power bloc

countries stuck in between or wavering are Russia and Japan

there is a very slim chance china will ally with japan, even though japan icould be the only one we can count on, because the japanese commited some major atrocities to china in world war 2 and we can't forgive them.
