Post What form of government is most ideal

What form of governmenyt do you think is most ideal.

I know that american democracy isn't ideal because it only works with money and 2 party system.
Neither is a communist dictatorship like we have here.

What form of government would you like yto see in the future.

It's totally opinion when it comes to this,

But I think that moderate socialism with some aspects of capitalism would be ideal. I'm not economist or politician, and I really don't know a lot to back anything up.

I think moderate socialism, like in Canada and parts of Europe would lead to a more stable, and reliable, economy. Health care and free education would do everyone a favor.
Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

I actually like American democracy (at least in design, if not implementation) better than other forms of democracy; for example, the system of checks and balances is more extensive, it is more decentralized (both of the preceding are much less applicable in practice due to what is effectively the near abolition of the Tenth Amendment :steam, and the combination of single-member districts with the primary system and Presidential system has made each legislature much more accountable to his constituents than to an oligarchic party leadership, relative to other countries. Also, I like the fact that our two parties, despite their populist streak, essentially represent liberal-conservatism and social-liberalism, at least as far as social-constructivism is concerned; it limits potential damage.

Now, if only we could correct the judicial system and do something about voter fatigue (a problem that is also present in Switzerland, for the same reasons)...

Depends on the culture and what you're trying to accomplish. Capitalism only works well, for example, if you have no/few slaves and the infrastructure to support commerce.

Also there's a reason why they call it "Fuedal Academia" - its beneficial to govern that way.

I'd like to see something similar to American democracy, but more decentralized, with better checks on the relative power between states and the federal government.

American democracy wouldn't be so bad if the power distribution wasn't so out of balance. The federal government has too much power, which it has usurped from the states over the last 150 years.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

America is the only western nation that does not have a parlimentary system, but holds to its strong presidency.

I think that socialism is great, and capitalism has its virtues also, but both need to be protected from certain shortcomings to remain untainted by corrupt insiders.

An effective system of checks and balances is necessary to prevent any government from becoming corrupt.

Proposals I have made in the past include:

    (1) Eradicating lobbysists from the U.S. system of government. They needlessly inluence policymaking to the betterment of elites/corporations and not the taxpayer.

    (2) Regarding investigation of scandals when they occur, the arm of government that does so should not be under the direction of the executive branch. Preferably they would be an investigative arm of the judiciary. Also, the terms of apointment for such staff should not be co-terminous with those of the current administration.

    (3) A professor of mine made a great point. All scandals should be treated with the same investigative process, much like criminal investigations. No regime has proven to be capable of investigaing themselves (Kennedy assassination, Watergate, 9/11 Commission, etc.) as evidence has been poorly handled, if not destroyed in each case.

    (4) Establish term limits for U.S. Congressmen and U.S. Senators. as well as State congressmen and State senators. The intent of the founding fathers was to allow citizens an opportunity to serve their country and then to go home to continue their lives. Professional politicians are as able to serve the people of their country as well as a kleptomaniac that works in a jewelry store.

    There's my .02.

They say that the best form of government is a benevolent dictatorship.

And the only problem is that it doesn't stay benevolent for very long.

So it seems we have no alternative but to limit power and so limit corruption.

And at the very heart of liberal democracy is the limitation of power.

And power is limited in liberal democracies by the Separation of Powers.

However it was Winston Churchill who said that democracy was the worst possible system except for all the others.
