Originally, I found the Colbert Report funny, but his shtick has gotten old and now I find it more annoying than funny. He was better as a reporter on the Daily Show.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

I think the joke is really on the liberals, since Colbert's character often makes more sense than their real agenda.

to the OP. are you f-n kidding? That dude is funny as hell. What helps this is his consistency. Everybody gets a piece. If he turns his gig into a drama/soap like jon stewart, then and only then, conservatives will stop watching due to all the puke. i wonder if libs don't know when he's joking half the time.
everyone uses every function about evenly. take NE for example. if there are those who don't use it much, then why are there such massive amounts of people constantly flowing through Wallmart with 20 items or less?

erm, i dunno..... colbert definitely seems to be razzing the "Right" rational of thinking more than the left rationale. He just feigns being appalled by the latter, and reduces the former to absurdity.

I was going to say: who watches that schmendrick? Or the other one? Besides the obvious, I mean.
