Risen, I wasn't sure where to put it. I thought the Politics thread made the most sense but I could be wrong. I'm also messing about in my previous post - people can feel free to discuss politics in this thread!

I have no idea what "vaginal desertification" means
It's the part where a woman looks down and sees tumbleweeds blowing out of her panties, and cactii growing out of her vagina. Very offputting!

Ygolo - huh! I was under the impression he'd been a comedian for ages. But yeah, I only just checked him out so...I have no idea.

I've listened to Glenn Beck since I was about 24. I've seen him a few times live and think he's pretty funny. He's more of a Libertarian, which is what I mostly fall in line with. I don't agree with everything he says - but even if I don't it presents another side of an issue to me that it seems most people are:

a.) too filled with hate to make a good argument/point and resort to personal attacks
b.) too chicken to say what they think because they are afraid if getting castigated.

He is a commentator - not a reporter - not a comedian. I've never seen him do stand up before but maybe its a generational thing. I'm not a huge fan on the Monty Python skits (I know - blasphemy) - just a different generation's humor I think.

I take that back. Watching my older friends WATCH Monty Python and laugh makes me laugh too - so yeah... Monty's an ok dude.

It was a deragatory term coined by their political enemies in Germany, since it derives from the German word for "simple-minded" or something along those lines.

I don't know about that... It was an abbreviation of the Nationalist Socialist Party of Germany.

The National Socialist German Worker's Party is what it means. In German it's Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei.

    Alright found it:
The term Nasos, not Nazis, was the original abbreviation for the National Socialist German Workers' Party. However, German writer Konrad Heiden, who had little use for them, bastardized Nasos into Nazi as a means of poking fun at them. Nazi is derived from a Bavarian word that means "simple-minded".

How could the Germans not know that though? Bavaria is part of Germany, you'd think someone would have reconized that.

I just have a hard time believing that to be the case, especially when the letter pairings na and zi are so close together.
