There is a difference between hunting and poaching. PETA doesn't see it that way. I'm a hunter and a conservationist especially when it comes to wildlife management.

Hunting has to do with wildlife management and it is humane. Poaching is illegal, has nothing to do with the welfare of the animal population or ecosystem, and everything to do with personal benefit/gain (i.e. a fur coat).

Just because some individual moron beats his dog, does that mean the rest of the city has to go without pets? - according to the hunting/poaching statement above, PETA would think so...
