Marriage is pointless in this day and age. Flame away, but women no longer need go from their parent's house to their husband's...

Everything is pointless. I am talking about benefits both to individuals and to societies. Marriage has benefits. Even benefits that may not be obvious to most people, nor consciously weighed in the decision making.

Bastardism increases as the economy declines.

Bastardism (is this a word?) is a symptom of decadence and decline. Cultural decline, economic decline, moral decline. It is decadent. Marriage is a eusocial tradition. It ties families together by way of a formalized commitment.

I stand by what I said. If you feel up to convincing me of the reasons, feel free to school me.

This trend has been going on since the 90's

So is there a certain percentage of bastardism that is beneficial to the economy, but more than that makes it decline?

It doesn't matter to me if people are unmarried but still living/raising their children together, but otherwise, the burden of children on a single parent bothers me.

#1 You frame marriage as an arrangement wherein you go from one father to another. This belies your prejudice against it as a relationship where both parties equally benefit.

I don't think its tied to the economy that closely, I think social change has more to do with it.

Also the rate of single mothers has been increasing as well, same with parentless children.

Single parent households are ruinous to society. And, if you're not married you're more likely to be a single parent. Obviously.
