I know that. I had 13 years of Catholic schooling, and I've read the entire Bible (New American, approved by United States Council of Catholic Bishops). I was just pointing out that there are homosexuals everywhere, and there have been homosexuals throughout history. Look at the Romans who had colonized Judea in Jesus' time.

From an epistemological standpoint, I understand where you're coming from. I have no personal issue with Christians. It's the major religion used in the U.S. to solidify claims against homosexuality. Thus, I use it in my examples.

Not according to the New Testament (that's the part of the Bible that generally doesn't suck), but he seemed to have plenty of things to say about divorce and remarriage.

Meh, not really, though the odds are probably pretty good that at least one of them had (repressed) bisexual tendencies...I'll just assume it was Judas, so that both sides of this debate will be pissed at me.

I believe St. Paul decries homosexuality in 1 Corinthians, does he not?

Fair enough, but probability suggest there was a queer in there somewhere. I vote John. What a little femme. "The disciple whom Jesus loved" indeed!

I'll check that as soon as I sober up, but still, I don't think Jesus allegedly said anything after the Pentocaust(sp) and before Revelations...

As for the rest...Lol, its awfully suspicious that so many men went on extended camping retreats without female company, isn't it?

Actually he uses the Greek word porneia, which described a wide range of what was considered to be serious sexual offenses, including homosexuality.

I believe in the New American Bible, it's translated as "practicing homosexuals."

We're talking about Paul in Corinthians, right? I'm pretty sure that the red text portions of the New Testament never mention homosexuality (the original question concerned what Jesus himself allegedly says), though of course a denunciation by Paul would certainly make a much stronger theological case for relatively orthodox Christians to consider homosexual acts a serious sin than if such statements were restricted to the Old Testament. I'm still not so sure that sodomy (I don't think that lesbians were ever denounced, proving once and for all that God is male) could theologically be considered a greater sin than "adultery," though...
