    94?

The conservatives I've talked to think that all politicians are horrible and choose on the basis of who they think will ruin things the least. It's never the Democrat.

Yes, the "Republican Revolution." When Gingrich led the GOP to taking over both houses of Congress (and several governor's houses, too).

Actually, that is not true. We did have a government shutdown, and nothing happened.

There was a budget shutdown in 95, and many employees lost their salaries because of the crisis.

It ended up really hurting Gingrich.

And, still, nothing happened to the United States. We suffered nothing whatsoever.

The people who lost their salaries did. It's a good thing it didn't last longer.

Not really. They were "nonessential government workers." If they're "nonessential," it doesn't really matter if they work or not. Preferably, they never would.
