Hey, what you sayin' about my Southland...? :steam:

American digs toward Canada would probably be a better comparision, though I'm unsure exactly how prevalent those are...its difficult to make fun of a country or people when you habitually forget they even exist...

The average American perception of New Zealand is probably, "OOh...New Zealand. How unthreateningly exotic!"

This reminds me a bit of the Canada/US relationship. The media here wets itself anytime any American, anywhere in America, talks or thinks about us. We have that weird "we're so much better than you but PLEASE NOTICE US, AMERICA, PLEEEEEASE!" thing happening a lot. I try to ignore it because yes, it's embarassing.

When you live in such a blessed country like France is (don't forget the Joie de vivre!), why should you waste your time bashing other countries, or worrying about the general concept of humility?

And I had no idea people referred to people who come from New Zealand as Kiwis. It makes sense though.

    This is the original Kiwi:

Some nations choose a tiger, a dragon, an elephant, a bear, a lion or an eagle as national symbols.
Some others rather picked... this! (Interesting choice, by the way)

A Kiwi could take down three bears, underestimate them at your peril.

Maybe because you are a very introverted people who like wet forests, nocturnal, monogamous for life, and where females are heavier than males and hence, more eager to dominate them?

Somebody said that to me on here.
Japanese seem to know a lot about NZ. I get sick of sheep questions though.

NZ's can be a bit over sensitive over stuff like that.
