Claiming that liberal democracy necessitates economic freedom doesn't equal claiming that economic freedom GUARANTEES liberal democracy. In the long run, economic freedom will lead to greater wealth, and greater wealth will lead to greater demands for responsive government. It has limits, but it's the way of the world behaviorally.

In regards to Afghanistan...lack of centralized government does not necessarily mean anarchy. Warlords are still governments. Likewise, the Taliban was a form of government.

Then perhaps i could interest you in a service to your community, not of your choosing?
everyone uses every function about evenly. take NE for example. if there are those who don't use it much, then why are there such massive amounts of people constantly flowing through Wallmart with 20 items or less?

Not sure you're understanding them, dude. These people don't give a fart in a high wind for property rights.

You'd think that demonstrating clearly that mandatory public service for non-convicts violates the 13th Amendment would be enough for all but the densest people. It would violate the anti-slavery amendment to the U.S. Constitution, for Christ's sake! It doesn't get any more basic in terms of civil liberties and personal freedom than that.

Well, I'm opposed to any sort of legislation like this because I don't want to do anything in that particular vein. If I am forced to, I promise I'll do a terrible job or even sabotage their efforts just to spite them.

Kind of like how slaves work. They either A) sabotage the work; or B) only work hard enough not to be punished. As opposed to volunteers, who actually want to be there.

I have seen this liberal mindset over and over again. They think volunteering is a great idea, so they volunteer other people to do stuff. They think charitable giving is a great idea, so they give away other people's money. They think a free and tolerant exchange of ideas is a great idea, so they establish policy to ensure that only the wrong ideas are illegal.
