Orthodoxy means conforming to a doctrine. Like an orthodox Christian compared to a liberal Christian. Again, you're talking about liberals who follow liberalism rigidly, not the actual philosophy.

I don't know, you couldn't be more wrong on this one. You know what orthodoxy/conservatism means.

The link included here was written by Benedict Brogan, and I don't know who he is. The tone of the article seemed relatively balanced. It didn't appear extremist, but that is all I can say about it.

In this following quote, the Winston Churchill bust was on loan, and returned rather than a rejected gift. If it was in fact a loan, it would be wrong to not return it at some point. This makes that aspect of the scenario a little less clear in terms of being an insult.
    Regarding the Prime Minister's reception
My impression from this report is that the Bush and Clinton Administrations went to greater lengths to give the red carpet treatment to Britain. In Bush's case there was a specific political agenda to call for this. I do not remember as much about the Clinton's relationship to Britain. There is a difference between an end to strategically giving the four star treatment for political ends, and an outright insult. It seems possible, if not likely, that it doesn't have to be one extreme or the other. It is true that in politics and celebrity there is much ego involvement which creates these scenarios in the media.

And you know what political conservatism and political liberalism mean. I can't help but feel that this is your disingenuousness at work again.

No brains are needed to enjoy Norm MacDonald on Dennis' radio show? He's brilliant on those.

P.S. Farting in church is funny. Farting in a priest's face would be even funnier, unless you're an altar boy and he's forcing you to do it (and I'd still find that hilarious, although I am sure the altar boy in question wouldn't agree).

My country's politics and business are also filled with intricate formalities.

Some of these things are quite unbelievable, such as, I am told, a group of businessmen demanding their potential partners to lose an informal soccer match between them.

Naturally, beneath the formalities there is corruption and deep enmity between the partisans.

For my part -- perhaps to my disadvantage -- I do not understand nor follow formalities.

Resolute, and a first edition of a 7 volume biography of Winston Churchill - but Obama gives Brown the equivalent of a pair of socks. The phony gifts of 25 DVDS included Raging Bull, Casablanca, Psycho, The Graduate...Wasn't he trying to repair our image in the world? How could he be so stupid?

That wasn't funny in the least. Even the crowd was only about 20% laughing. It was quite painful.
