Ps, I think by common consensus the snot on the Axis side would probably have been Italy under Mussolini. Maybe we could also add Vichy France too.
Yea whatever I tried.

This whole thread is a discussion about nazi germany. It would be far more interesting if nazi germany did not exist and what other things come into the equation. How global power is splitted etc and will the war srtill happened.

And what would happen if Nazi germany won instead, and how they could have done to win. Are the nazis really doomed to lose?

In the end, its always nationalism and self determination vs imperialism.

When I have time and energy(possibly this weekend), I'll be happy to address some of these issues. Same goes for heart's and other arguments presented here.

Nevermind guys! I don't need to read any books on WWII anymore. All I needed was this simplified version!

I was sickened to see the historical revisionism going on in the movie just out called, "The Reader".

The SS are being whitewashed and their unspeakable crimes against humanity are being elided.

And here we see the same process going on. What we are witnessing here is soft porn lovingly portrayed by a collector of SS memorabilia.

Rather than enjoying this soft porn, you would be better off visiting your local Holocaust Museum.

So yes, the basic topic of this thread is the Second World War. If you have any interest related to this period in history, feel free to contribute. Seen any good movies about the war lately, read any good books, whatever! Just share it.
I've been meaning to read "The Burning Mountain" by Alfred Coppel... I have no idea what type of author he is, I found the book in a community donation outlet. As far as from doing a skim through the pages it's based on actual Japanese and U.S. war plans on the invasion of Japan near the end of WWII. It seems like it'll be a little bit interesting, maybe insightful.

Victor, this is my response to your post:

I once had a comrade,
None better I have had.
The drum called us to fight,
He always on my right,
In step, through good and bad.

A bullet it flew towards us,
For him or meant for me?
His life from mine it tore,
At my feet a piece of gore,
As if a part of me.

His hand reached up to hold mine.
I must re-load my gun.
"My friend, I cannot ease your pain,
In life eternal we'll meet again,
My good comrade!"
