    We should start a "I hate anything Obama does a priori" subforum for these threads.

    Does this forum really need one when it has this?

    Aww too many opposing viewpoints for Risen... you're right, this forum must be strengthening you. You might like Sean Hannity Discussion more.

    I praised Obama for signing the order to shut down Gitmo. I actually like to think for myself. Still, both taxes and spending are way too high in this country. The income tax that is outrageously high in the U.S., however, is the corporate income tax. We have the second-highest CIT in the industrialized world, after Japan.

    We may have next to nothing in common fiscally but I have always respected you as you always seem to have pragmatical thinking. By that I mean you would able to say commendatory, not just negative things, about someone you may not like from political prospective; like you just did for Obama on Gitmo.

    I like to think my criticism on this forum has on the whole has been justified, but I am brave enough to say in the past especially during the days of Lateralus and Kiddo's continued lovers' tiff, I may have been unfair in suggesting certain people on occasion, like Lateralus and maybe even yourself, always cause debates to go off topic. On the whole there has been some interesting debates, with a varied opinion particularly on fiscal matters, not just from people I tended to agree with like kiddo, ajblaise, and Haight, but also with from completely different views like yourself, Lee (whatever username he goes by this week), Lateralus, and Booylab who make thought provoking posts on political and economic theory.

    That said, not matter how hard I try I can not ever seem to bring to take Risen even a little seriously when I read things by him like;

Two, I live in a fairly liberal environment and this forum is only an extension of that, multiplied in intensity. My participating in this forum and continuing to speak my mind only serves to strengthen me. My constant exposure to battles with opponents strengthens my arguments and my knowledge. I dare say I would've never been able to come as far in what I know had I not had to fight off the opposing viewpoints CONSTANTLY.

    If life is nothing but a constant barrage of battles in an endless war, then glory be to him who survives the day.
    I am pretty sure he is the only one who is unable to comprehend how incredibly arrogant and aggressive his disposition comes across as. I was under the understanding this was a forum where people come to relax and not trash talk like this was the run up to the Battle of Stalingrad. Maybe if he shut the hell up about 'duct tape and gorilla glue', and tried to at least to make an sagacious argument once in a while rather than have only having a penchant of positively nugatory and antagonistic political posts then just maybe he would not consider this forum a ''relatively hostile environment''.

    So yeah, I will finish this thread with some examples of Risen's outstanding contribution to this internet forum and more importantly this particular fora;

Oh goody gum drops, I think I just jizzed my pants! Save me Obama!" *faints*

    Republicans and democrats alike came together and instituted term limits RIGHT AFTER FDR LEFT OFFICE for a good freaking reason. They obviously didn't love him so much that they wanted a repeat in the future. I swear some people make my god damn head explode. I need duct tape and gorilla glue to keep my skull from shattering into a million pieces.

    So why are you going so far to prove my own point? What makes you any less inflammatory and any less of a "thread derailer" with your own post?

    I created that group as a talking and venting spot for people who might not agree with the majority of the forum on some issues.
    http://www.typologycentral.com/forum...o-you-sit.html (the majority lean left)

    If you have a problem with what I say in the group, aside from me telling you to eat crow and suck it up, I would also tell you to try JOINING the group and talking it out since you seem to be such an avid reader/fan . Otherwise, you run into the issue of turning yourself into a blatant hypocrite (see first paragraph). I assure you my friend, if I had a care in the world about what you think, I wouldn't keep the group so blatantly open for all eyes to see. Yes, to vent with such "arrogance" on the forum would be to soil it as much as you have done here. That is why we have social groups .

    You and the rest of the "donkey bubble" crowd (don't know if you're in that groups or not) seem to think you are the only ones with a valid opinion, and the rest are just petty minorities. In reality, I get a lot of positive feedback for the many INFORMATIVE posts I create which, I might argue, save this section of the forum from a seeping pool of asinine subject matter. I believe (I could be wrong) I say a lot of things that many just don't dare to say, though they may think it.

    Now, as I have so graciously done in the past on other people's threads, let me suggest that we get back onto the original topic .

    I am honestly unaware anyone has ever found me inflammatory in anyway whatsoever on this forum.

    I hardly ever derail threads or I at least try not to anyway. I not sure it was me who derailed this thread , I think you will find it was Edahn by seemingly mocking you, all I did was agree with him.

    You seem to completely misunderstood what I was saying.

    I did not make that post to criticize your social group, I made it to criticize the fact you seem to consistently make the same threads on the main forum (in other words not your group) about how abominable you think Obama is and the preposterous amount of threads on the economy. Firstly, Obama has only been in the job a short while and most likely has the hardest job of any post World War Two president of the United States, so I think it a bit harsh to bang on about how he is ever so bad as much you have already. Secondly, every time I turn on the television I hear a depressing news stories about the economy, therefore I fail to understand why this forum needs so many threads on the economy in this forum; why can't we just have one that rules them all?

    In short, if your group stops you making gorilla glue references, showing how vexed at Mr Obama and the sate of the economy for an half-hour at least, and keeps you creating more of your more interesting threads like 'How to discern Friendliness vs. Flirtation?' or 'Where do you find NT women?' then I support it whole heartedly.

    Well I will admit I have read every post from your group, so it would be fair if one said I am an avid reader, but I don't think it is a good idea for me to join that group; I consider myself a hardcore socialist and I am not really a fan of entryism. Also, you lot don't seem to talk about my five biggest political heroes in Thomas Paine, Rosa Luxemburg, Emma Goldman, George Orwell, and Keir Hardie there much at all.

    On a side note, I completely fail to understand how the majority lean politically left on this forum as you suggested. Currently according to that poll, fiscally it is more or less even with the 'right wing' with a few more vote than the 'left wing', and the 'social left' is winning with a landslide.

    Sure, fine by me.
    First of all, I'm only going to address the "Obama hate" issue once, because I have said enough times how I feel about the president. I DO NOT agree with his policies, I DO NOT hate him, and I DO NOT rag on him as much as I rag on the Washington and the government as a whole, even BEFORE HE WAS ELECTED. I would seriously suggest you start looking at the forum's history and gaze at how much I was criticizing Bush and the government in what it was doing with the stimulus package and bailout. I said the same things back then that I do today with Obama as president, so I get a little tied off when people come in here with their hallucinations of "Obama hate bias". Bias against him in the election coverage? Hell yes I was. Bias against him in the policies of the government? Hell no I'm not. Again, I yelled about what Bush was doing the same way I have been yelling about what the new administration is doing (except more because things are getting worse at a faster pace).

    I'm sorry if I make you or others feel uncomfortable because I bring up so many pressing issues in my threads. trust me, I know how jam packed the news is with doom and gloom nowadays. How do you think I feel spending HOURS every day going through the latest headlines to keep abreast of what is going on in the nation and locally? I'll tell you, it is DAUNTING and tiring. I could only imagine how cripplingly difficult it is for people who do this for a living to keep up. I post the all the threads that i do because I want to get people to THINK about this stuff, to discuss it with each other, and build their own understanding of these issues which I feel are vitally important. You may or may not agree. Whatever. But I know some people do appreciate the threads. On top of that, I learn just as much when I post a thread as anyone else here does, though I also hope I'm able (to the best of my ability) to offer another perspective on these issues that often times the mainstream news just does not cover. If some people don't like it, then fine, but not everyone feels the same way.

    Fin.
