    No, it's not.

See, there are only two parts to the definition of value systems - living by ethical standards and conveying those ethical standards to others. What this shows is that the "living it" part is clearly less effective: even by the standards that this group gets to dictate, they are less able to maintain their own personal value system. The only thing that would make their rhetoric a value system is telling others how to live by their ethical standards, which is what you are stating when you say "look at the laws".

Quite literally, their entire value system is grounded not in personal action, but in having others follow it. Which really gives me a headache, when I consider most of these are suppose to follow Christ's teachings.

Obama is in office so you feel all empowered now but you liberals still really stink. Like bad.

Yet they view themselves as the champions of "small government", freedom and personal liberty – the same people who want Big Brother in your bedroom (but not theirs of course), and who always favor giving the government more power with search and seizure laws in their war on vice crimes.

Rhetoric is worse, and it's not even close.

These are also probably many of the same states which still had anti-sodomy laws on the books before the Supreme Court struck them down in 2003, that were mostly used against same sex couples. Every now and then you’d hear about gays getting arrested for sodomy, usually somewhere in the South. There are still plenty of social conservatives out there who think these laws are a good idea, yet who worry about Obama taking away our freedom.

Pretty much every politician in the world is a threat to some type of freedom or another. That is why we need to restrict their power.
