Hm, besides the fact that the city does most of the shoveling here, I would just do it for my own sake; but just as much that you can pass better. Then maybe use some salt and / or small stones (gravel).

Baaahhh! Salt is worse than shoveling. Salt is evil... not good for concrete, kills plants, and makes its way into waterways to kill off freshwater aquatic life!

    Sorry.

How does salt kill plants on a stone ground?
You must have odd roads and stuff over there. =P

You're in Ohio? = Brrrrrrr! When it regularly gets into the negatives FARENHEIT, surely salt will have little or no effect anyway...?

Anyway, not only should people shovel their own sidewalks, they should shovel mine as well; that way I don't have to bother going outdoors in subzero temperatures, and breathing in nasty frosty air which might give me a lung condition or something

Luckily it is generally cool and wet in the glorious valley of Cwm Nedd *like winter, like summer* so whatever snow does fall generally gets washed away before there's enough built up to be worth shoveling... thank the Lord for a maritime climate!

The kids (and adults) have to walk on the sidewalk to the bus stop. I shovel, and you should too.

What! In the middle of summer.

I would look a right dork shoveling snow in the middle of a heat wave, with bush fires burning all around me, and everyone dying to cool off in the surf.

They think I am weird already. If I were to shovel snow, they would think I had gone completely mad.

I asked my therapist about your question, and she said I need questions like that like a fish needs a bicycle.

So I said, do fish need bicycles? And she told me the session was over.

    I'm going for a swim.

you hire someone or have compassionate and energetic neighbors. we usually try to hire someone, but often our neighbors--one of whom is in his eighties and the other who is on disability because of a very bad back--get to it first.
    It's a blessing...and a curse.

Yes, that or we just make the clima-problem worse; so the temperatures are sooo hot that we will never see snow again. :rolleyes2:

    That's a good idea! If we make the hole in the ozone layer big enough, do you think we can let all the CO2 out through it, thereby solving the global warming problem, and then solve the ozone depletion problem by finding a way to get all the low level polluting ozone up into the stratosphere where it belongs? That would be a worthy solution, I think; we could solve most of the world's environmental problems at a few fell strokes without ever needing to change our habits in the slightest! ;

    I adore shoveling snow!

unfortunatly, I live in an apartment complex where they clean the snow away for me
