I felt a little embarrassment for the Rev. Street talk in a Benediction? Guess we'll need to adjust. . .

Perhaps it was an effort to be inclusive. Dunno. He got a few laughs. Suppose lightness is ok, but it didn't seem the time or place to me.

Poets! I cannot bear the pretense of profundity. (I'm referring to the woman's poem)

Ye Gods that poem was bad. When she was listing all these random people, someone darning a sock, someone waiting for a bus, someone picking his nose, I dunno, I heard a giggle rise up and for a second I thought she was going to be laughed at.

People were remarkably well behaved, I thought.

The nice thing about conspiracy theories is that they provide a simple solution to a complex problem.

No, it's truth disguised as sarcasm. Conspiracy theories are made for people who are unable to consider the real complexity of the world, and especially its arbitrary content.
They have to find a reason when often there is none.
