It's holding at 3 degrees F here...for now. I talked to my Mom in Fla. and she was chillin' at about 23 degrees tonight.

I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

I am also one of those that think that this is a byproduct of global warming.

But I also think that this phenomenon has a wrong name in this stage of the process.

There's no way this weather is natural. It must be a result of man's intervention in the climate. The only solution is mass suicide.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Actually, it apears that those weather conditions are party caused by a change in atmospheric circulation that has been occuring since the beginning of this decade.

Winter in the Arctic has long been determined by what researchers refer to as a tri-polar pattern. The interaction among the Icelandic Low, the Azores High and the subtropical high in the Pacific led to primarily east-west winds, a pattern which effectively blocked warmer air from moving northward into the Arctic region.

But since the beginning of the decade, the patterns have changed. Now, a dipolar (bipolar) pattern has developed in which a high pressure system over Canada and a low pressure system over Siberia have the say. The result has been that Artic (sic) winds now blow north-south, meaning that warmer air from the south has no problem making its way into the Arctic region. Its like a short-circuit, says Rdiger Gerdes, a scientist at the Alfred Webener Institute for Polar and Marine Research and one of the five authors of the study.
This of course also means that cold Arctic air can now more easily flow southward.

No, there is a solution - planetary wide geo-engineering.

Those two would probably kind of amount to the same.

Nah, just need to build CO2 scrubbers that could reduce co2 by about 4,046,533,630,489 kg a day. More trees, water methods, etc. Lots of options. Only catch is that it is geo-engineering on a global scale, and negative energy, so it would be massively expensive.
