According to the above story, companies are only required to label where food was processed and packaged, and not where all ingredients originate. In other words, it's almost impossible to avoid food from China. This is quite a shock to me, as I knew we were buying their electronics, but I thought we produced most of our own food. What do you think the ramifications of this could be?
Who did you think screwed the EU's food security? I mean food security was meant to be the very foundation of the European Union, the thing which was going to prevent a war in European or war like nations ever being a feature of Europe again, then there's a massive e-coli outbreak on domestic produce at a time when China is attacking European union food production and subsidy as uncompetitive restrictions on a free market?
