In this age. people are confusing money as a biological resource because we are totally dependent on it for tsurvival. Hence all the greed, and compeitition centered around it.
However, money IS NOT a biological resource, like food water and heat. It is just a green piece of paper. We are not born with the biological instinct to make money as to wanting a home, need of food or desire for sex.
The fear of poverty turns people into slaves of money.

Conquer your inner demons first before you conquer the world.
Money is a medium for exchange. It is the liquid essence of value. As such it is value neutral. It can be applied to any purpose you desire, including acts of charity. Now what you might ask is, is the accumulation and pursuit of money evil? Then you would need to ask to what end is money accumulated or pursued. There could be a case made that the competition that often results in the pursuit of money is a net negative to society as a whole. But, at the same time, the genius of commerce (intrinsic to human culture) is that it allows everyone to selfishly pursue their goals while creating network effects of increased production and progress. We can improve society only by operating under certain values. Money only serves the values of the larger culture.

EDIT: Just read this back over and it sounds totally harsh. It was meant as a joke, arg!
