False, Oswald Rufeisen was banned from Israeli citizenship despite saving hundreds of Jews lives and being born one. His crime you ask, simple, he converted to Catholicism and became a monk.

It's true that you have to officially be a Jew by their law, to qualify for right of return.

Catholicism is one of the fastest growing religion among the Jewish population in Israel I've read. So much so the Church actually had to be divided between Jewish and Arab branches.

So "Jew" refers to the religion and not just the heritage? I was under the impression you could be a Jew but not necessarily practice Judaism.

In terms of heritage, you're usually considered Jewish if your mother is.

Catholicism couldn't possibly be that much, given the numbers.

    Jewish: 76.0%
    Muslim: 15.9%
    Christian: 1.8%
    Druze: 1.7%
    Unclassified By Choice: 4.6%

    It's a nationality and religion.

I always considered that to be Cultural Judaism.

That doesn't actually refute what I stated. Being a fast growing religion doesn't mean you're about to become the majority overnight.

That also doesn't negate that it will never be of higher percentage than Islam, much less Judaism. That area in particular will always be heavily monotheist.
