    That is certainly what we've been led to believe through various forms of conditioning but I don't think it is inevitable unless the people in all the countries involved just take a passive attitude to it, which they appear for the most part to be doing. We're making our own destiny in this way, it is not something inevitable that is just naturally occuring. Nothing in politics really is. jmo.

    Hmm, the radiation would be a problem, but how can you hit what you can't see?

    I'm talking about the voice of history, not that BS coming from the White House or other delusional screwheads. It may take hundreds of years or more, but there will be something akin to a continental empire where we're sitting. Borders blur and move with time even if you're on an island in the middle of the ocean.

    Particularly arbitrary borders... If they, say, followed natural boundaries, they would last longer, but even those change. The fact is that North America was allocated much like Iraq was allocated, and we all see how that turned out.

    Actually, we all banded together to defend ourselves from you yankies! It was a union of British territories for mutual defense.

    Back to the OP,

    I really hope that this is not real;

    Undercover cops tried to incite violence in Montebello: union leader

    Cause some small part of me hopes the world hasn't changed that much.
