The Democrats are stupid, the Republicans are evil and Obama needs to take God's cock out of his mouth when he speaks. Hillary will probably get the nomination and I'll grudgingly vote for her. This election is going to be odd because none of the candidates strike me as presidential. At least Shrub will be gone in '09.

    Scandinavian style socialism.

I really don't like any of the candidates this election- as usual, I hate the Republican slate (yes- I'm liberal) and I think that the Democratic candidates are either too inexperienced, stand no chance, or are two faced idiots who would be willing to fuck the public in the ass in order to get into office. I really don't like Hillary and hope that she isn't the first female president of the US because I think that there are so many more competent women out there who wouldn't be willing to stoop to talking both sides in hopes of winning the most votes- plus- I'm not so certain I want to claim her to my gender
I think that Obama is too inexperienced and naive about politics and has made some rather uneducated and dangerous comments so far (like about war with Iran!). Overall, I find this whole election process rather depressing and end up envying people in other countries who have more than two political parties (yeah- you can argue that we have third parties- but they really don't stand a chance with the campaign finance laws that we have or the single member districts).
Not that any of this matters- I'm a liberal voter in a solid red state, so my vote doesn't count- I'd just feel like a hypocrite complaining about the president if I didn't vote!

sorry- long post- I've been a political junkie since way before I could vote!

I see all of this vitriol for Hillary Clinton (including my own) and it makes me wonder how the hell she is running away with this thing. It's not like 2004, where the roster of Democratic candidates sucked from top to bottom.

My personal logic is telling me that once it actually gets down to voting she won't do as well as the polls dictate. I personally don't know anyone who will vote for her. But then...it also tells me that it would be ridiculous for the polls to have basically no real value associated with the actual voting...and then I remember that logic applies to neither politics nor the American public (or any public, for that matter).

When the common American thinks of the name Clinton, they think of the mid to late 1990's. Some of the most obvious things are the federal deficit surplus (hence a lowering of the federal debt) and a generally laissez-faire economy, not steaming but definitely not in a Bush-induced coma as far as everyday workers are concerned.

Let's not forget that the majority of Americans don't make over $100,000 a year, have an average amount to little health care (by little I mean don't have the 'extras' such as dental and vision), and have seen inflation rise faster than their personal incomes, especially on important everyday goods like milk products and gasoline.

I'd say that the two combined make people nostalgic for the 1990's. (That and the lack of any major media-hyped conflict during the Clinton years...yes most Americans overlook Somalia and the Balkans for some self-interested reason.) If one Clinton did it, they probably assume the next one might too. Right now almost anything looks better than the Bush camp and other neo-cons.

No, Obama is not personally a Muslim, at least not publically. His internal world is his own though, and we can only go by what he or God tells us.

I simply think that a Clinton/Obama ticket may have the Democrats thinking they can chop enough female and minority interest voters out of the Republican slice in order to win the White House. I doubt anything would change within the first four years as far as Iraq goes. Look how long Vietnam lasted despite Kennedy wanting to pull out shortly after assisting/invading! I would not but I have the distinct impulse to spit upon both Bush and Cheney. Money-loving, heartstring-pulling, lying-and-not-apologizing-for-it warmongers...grrr.

What religion does he practice publicly?

And what does that mean "not personally a Muslim"?
He comes from a family of Muslims and has publicly denounced the faith?

His father (who he never knew) was muslim, his mother atheist. His mother married another man who was slightly muslim but mostly atheist. Obama has never claimed to by Islamic (as far as I know), and pretends to be Christian (because it's a good way to get Republican votes).
I'm not being critical, I'm just trying to make you a better person.
