    Default Blagojevich

I'm watching CNN right now and this is nuts. It's like a Hollywood movie. He's so screwed.

Illinois governor taken into custody - CNN.com
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Yeah, I just read that on a Yahoo! News headline.

    Holy cuh-rap.

I read a little bit about him. He's no stranger to this kind of stuff, so it's not terribly surprising. He's had plenty of controversy and charges of corruption, even though ending corruption was his platform when he ran.

    Disgust would be more accurate.

But if shocked is the alternative to complacency, I'd rather be shocked.

I'm shocked that the evidence is so damning. Usually, there are allegations, but the evidence is circumstantial. In this case, they have wire tap recordings of him implicating himself.

He didn't like Obama, at all, which I'm glad to hear.

Edit: Meaning, Obama wouldn't play his game.

    Exactly: CNN Article excerpt says:
The investigation into Blagojevich and Harris has been going on for several years, Rice said. Tuesday's arrests are "pretty much a culmination of that case," he said.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's an extensive list of "WTF"s over several years he's been caught at.

I also wonder what made them decide to come in for the kill now as opposed to later (or sooner as it were).

Another one bites the dust. . . This guy must be especially venal. Did he honestly think that there wouldn't be major oversight of the Obama replacement proces and of those helming it? Maybe being involved in Illinois politics for too long clouds the better judgment. . .

What I find most disturbing is that I had to look this guy up on the Internet to find out with which party he affiliates, as none of the "news" articles included the "D-IL" (some have included that tidbit in their articles throughout the day, though).

Because "alternative" media sources called them out on it.

I didn't find it disturbing. That's actually what I expected when I looked up his party affiliation. If he had been a Republican, the headline would have read "Republican governor taken into custody".
