I don't really like this. I can think of people that would have been better choices than Hillary. And Hillary would have made sense for several different positions. Why the state department?

Her clout with foreign establishments (or perhaps that of her husband's) is the most sensible reason I can come up with. Still, there's nothing that the two of them differed on more than foreign policy, and that was the main policy divide that made me support Obama over Clinton.

Well I guess Bill will do his part by sleeping with the ambassadors' wives/daughters.

Which people would you have considered, MP? And which positions (besides the crude ones I'm sure someone will bring up, knowing everyone) do you think Hillary is best suited for?

I know, it worked out so well for the last eight years to have someone stupid in power whom Republicans thought shared their values, since it so greatly improved the community of this country.

She totally ruined America the last time she got that close to power.

I won't be able to sleep tonight. Thanks.

Hillary Clinton will come to be known as a perfectly decent Secretary of State.

    Mark my words.

Well, I know everyone has written him off as a joke since 2004, but I actually think Kerry would have been a good choice. Richardson was another name high on the list that I thought would have been better. If Obama wanted to flex his bi-partisanship, then he could have given it to Chuck Hagel, who is a Republican that's still outspoken enough on Bush's foreign policy to make sense (of course, seeing as how he picked Clinton, he was clearly not aiming for bi-partisanship in that post).

If Hillary were given one of the big four posts, I would have been more inclined to make her attorney general (people seem to forget that she's a lawer). But, she doesn't have to have one of those, it's just that so much bullcrap revolves around prestige that people would have considered it an injustice to give her something "smaller". The cool thing though is if you put someone like Hillary in one of those positions, she'd suddenly give weight to the department. For example, if she were may secretary of education. She could have also had the department of health, but I know that she in Obama didn't agree on that 100%, though it was one of the few areas where I slightly leaned toward Clinton (not that any of them proposed anything nearly as socialist as I want).

Of course... I could also suggest the idea that she simply no be given a cabinet position.

    This was a bad choice.

I think Bill would've made a good UN ambassador however.

Heh, it's true. These guys cry wolf so much that we can't be expected to listen when Obama does something that's really bad.

He's working with her for the exact same reason that Caesar worked with Pompey and Crassus... I think our dear Obama shows remarkable likeness to Caesar sometimes, and it doesn't make me anxious, I actually like it.
