Default Protest Prop 8 - This Weekend

    Hi all,

If you, like me, are disappointed that Prop 8 passed in California (as well as 2 similar props in other states), then I want to invite you to participate locally in a protest to be held this Saturday, 11/15/08 in cities across the US.

We got Obama elected - so now we know that anything is possible. Let's make marriage the inalienable right it ought to be for every American!

    Thanks.

If you think it's good that it passed and think it sucks that Obama was elected, I invite you to watch college football and get some house cleaning done.

I think it sucks that it passed and that it sucks that Obama was elected, so I will split the difference: I will go to the bar, drink, watch college football, and complain about the government.

I bet there are not all that many folks who think that it rocks that this passed and that it rocks that Obama was elected.

Actually, according to exit polls, quite a few black folks in Cali fit into that category.

I'd hope to agree, but since Obama won California and this thing passed anyway, there must be at least some .

Jeffster's right about that part. Minorities who are at all religious would probably be in that category.

I mentioned after the election how interesting it was that we had the highest black turnout ever due to Obama, and how that likely had an effect on other elections. It was reported that 70% of black people voted against prop 8. While the gays first targeted the Mormon church after its passing, it seems there are a number of them who are now directing their anger at the more socially conservative black voters (Rosie Odonnel for one, a multitude of blogs, and at least a few publications). So predictable...
