If its genetic, why do u want it to be taught to kids?

Not satisfied with your partner? Want someone younger? I mean come on.

Black, Mexican, Asian kids get made fun of all the time. ESPECIALLY where you live.

If its about not being made fun of bc of parents, give me a break.

    What is it about?

Why is it bad to have kids taught about it (even though they haven't been and will not be taught in california)?

Well for one, it's not entirely genetic. Second, I would like tolerance of gay relationships, history of gay rights and what it means to be gay (if that can even be taught) to be taught to kids because some of them will grow up to be gay, and they will all grow into a world in which gay people exist. I think it would be beneficial for school to prepare them for the world they will come to be a part of. You know, the reason schools exist in the first place?

There is no such thing as separation from God.

    Seriously.

I really have no idea why any single person would be for 8, let alone more than half the state. (I mean, I know why, but like.....whyyy?)

Because, logically, if they were to teach gay marriage in schools, all the kids would become gay and destroy society. <-- this is seriously what they think.

Well, I don't really care what happens there. Seriously. Do what u want, its ur state. your neighborhood, watever. your bathroom, your toys, who cares.

Like I said, all u guys need is like 5-10% to change their minds. And they would if u guys promise not to teach it to kids. i.e. my future kids. You guys want marriage right?

Take it or leave it. Really.

Amend it to say " Gay marriage is legal, but it won't be taught to kids" and you have what you want.

    Otherwise forget it.
Can we PLEASE put to rest the notion that gay marriage is going to be "taught to kids"? PLEASE???? Since when does marriage get taught in school at ALL? I certainly never had a day at school when they sat us down and said "Let's talk about what kind of marriages are acceptable." This is a HUGE red herring, and it's unconscionable that the pro-8 forces used this nonexistent scenario to go fearmongering among ignorant parents afraid their kids are going to get "turned gay" from learning it in school.

Let's not go overboard. At most the situation is analagous to segregation, and even that's a stretch. Your statement is analogous to someone saying that European gun laws/censorship laws are analogous to a fascist/communist dictatorship.

all I can say is i respect you for speaking your mind and being honest.

i support u guys marrying, but not teaching it to my future kids. I thought prop 8 went too far, but really if u guys want to be pragmatic, the massachusets gays went too far. its the same as teaching religion in schools.
