Default Obama - Wealth Redistribution

Yes, Obama is indeed for change. But what kind of change? Redistribution of wealth is a common socialist agenda.

Interesting. Raising capital gains tax not for the purpose of revenue, but for "fairness."

So what do you guys think?

Edit: And here's a vid showing what Obama's wife believes. I think they share similar notions concerning the economy. The commentator is ENTP I think .

I can't WTFV at work, but raising taxes because it's the "fair thing" to do sickens me, naturally.

It'd be nice to hold off on the propaganda and grousing until we actually see something. The incessant negative speculation before the election is even 24 hours old gets a little dreary.

At best, it'll just get ignored.

Yeah, the fairness thing in this situation is an extreme euphemism. That's the problem with Democracy and life in general: there is going to be some unfairness involved, in that everyone cannot be equal.

Government => Monopoly => "Redistribution of Wealth" => Socialism

It's the government that creates the monsters that we have today. Which in turn creates the need for the monsters to be controlled with stronger and stronger leashes. And then you have a single ruler that comes in and makes everything equally shitty. (Noone gets a piece of the pie.) Obama might not be the next dictator, but America is surely heading down the path of centralized destruction. Albeit, it takes time.

Even Plato knew that democracies would eventually wind up as tyrannies.

We're not speculating per se, we're just reviewing what Obama has said about what he's going to do for the American people, according to what he says. It seems quite plain to me his intentions. I'm not saying he's the anti-christ. He's probably sincere about trying to help people.

What Obama has stated about his economic policies seems to be quite consistent and steady. It's not as if we can't extrapolate from it which philosophy those thoughts belong to.

Raising the capital gains tax raises my taxes. I don't make over $250,000/year. If Obama does this, he's already broken one campaign promise.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Yeah, I've drawn attention to this myself recently, but people only see what they wish to see. I threw my hands up in exasperation when he talked about raising capital-gains taxes to pay for government programs after it had already been agreed that raising capital-gains taxes has always decreased government revenues. Cognitive dissonance, anyone?

People seem to assume he's better for the economy because he appeared to keep his cool during the debates and when the crisis unfolded. All that means (assuming he isn't just good at hiding his emotions) is that he's confident about his economic policies the same way GWB was confident about his foreign policy.

    Edit: oops, I didn't mean

The process you're using to justify your conclusions is not far removed from the same process used by conservative Christians to go through the Bible and support a particular POV on an issue. It's all speculation and fuzz about something that is still currently very ambiguous.

Which is why it's not worth investing much energy in yet, until we get a bit further into the future.

Don't forget the increased Social Security payments for people making over $102,000 a year DESPITE THE FACT THAT SOCIAL SECURITY IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A MEANS OF REDISTRIBUTION.
