But the thing is: why do people give so much credit to the president and get happy when one guy gets knocked out and another enters? Isn't it all just a modern day circus? :P

Obama is officially the first president to have his campaign advertised in video games.

I wait for the day when we actually have a president who is an avid video gamer...

Now we wait. (For shitty, annoying anti-personal freedom laws, and small business taxes.)

    lol.... I love it.

Were you saying that before the election?
    (I hope you were.)

    I agree.
    There is no "miracle."
While Obama is president, tomorrow there will still be a recession.

But leadership style does have an impact on people's attitudes, at least.
    Give the guy a chance.
At least wait to rain on the parade until the sun comes up again.

I voted for Mayor McCheese. That guy has decades of political experience.

But the poor little thing, she's going out of her mind

Yes, I was. You've seen me rant about the Federal Reserve, haven't you? Greenspan had more power than Bush and Clinton. Bernanke has more power than Bush and Obama. Bernanke was not elected and he doesn't report to anyone.

Obama wants to give the Federal Reserve more power. I heard him say this in a speech a few weeks ago.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."
