I'm telling you America is better than what Obama wants it to be, and as far as I can tell, you disagree. But just as, I gotta tell ya, almost every Obama supporter I've run into, you either a. Can't define why you support him, or b. Won't admit you subscribe to socialist ideals. Which I would say I don't understand, but in a way I do.

My hatred for Obama is well-fueled, and I must admit it bounces off him and slightly applies to every one of his supporters. Even those I adore, like you, aj. Outside the Politics forum, I hold no grudge, however.

If its a choice between being liked or upholding my principles, I'll choose the latter. I happen to think that the institutional, cultural, and ideological traits that set the United States apart from other liberal democracies are, for the most part, a good thing. So sorry if that offends your enlightened sensibilities.

I've described a lot of things about why I liked him in the threads on the Obama question, before it was so pleasingly settled tonight. The comebacks of you and Risen have often ignored anything that was very detailed. I even had the guts to bring in information that showed my doubts about the candidate, while you and your cheerleaders couldn't do anything but recite your Socialism mantra, and how McCain was the only way to go, short of Libertarianism being more of an option. Now you've descended to telling people their spelling mistakes disqualify them.

Yeah, and I'm upholding my principles.

Yeah I really don't hold that against people who have your position. I'm not saying you don't care about America's position and status with the rest of the world, but if personal political principals supersede that, that shouldn't be held against people like you.

And if your principles conflict with the desires of the "international community" at some point? Will you abandon them in order to demonstrate that you "give a shit" about their divergent opinions or agendas? If not, would you be annoyed by simplistic accusations that you simply don't care what they think of you?

I'll take your word for it.

The comebacks of you and Risen have often ignored anything that was very detailed.
I can't speak for Risen, but I would imagine if I've confused you, it was due to a general objection to a specific quality. This is just my estimate, because I don't know what you're referring to, exactly.
I even had the guts to bring in information that showed my doubts about the candidate, while you and your cheerleaders couldn't do anything but recite your Socialism mantra, and how McCain was the only way to go, short of Libertarianism being more of an option.
McCain is a reasonable man, though imperfect as everyone is. Obama is an agenda-ridden idealist, just like all the "scary men" of history. It's not something I take lightly. These Charismatic leaders have been known to get away with things that people can't believe a few decades later, because they weren't there to get caught up in the hype.

Now you've descended to telling people their spelling mistakes disqualify them.
That's the improper angle. My spelling comment was a response to a personal attack related to my upbringing. I give what I get.
