    I've never heard of the philosophy of Chris. What's that about?
    "We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    Not necessarily in/accurate...

    Questions offer curious oppositional bias to selecting an answer v. no preference. Strange format...

    Still a fun time. Thanks, Peguy.

    I think that some interesting categories were left out definitley- like American Working Class Liberal (a different beast than normal american liberal)... my personal favorite

    liberal conservative? would that be more moderate?

    Lacking some social questions that I definitley would have included, but the answers also lacked some categories I would have included.

    Poli Sci/Soc is overthinking this I fear

    Liberal nationalism:

    It is a kind of nationalism defended recently by political philosophers who believe that there can be a non-xenophobic form of nationalism compatible with liberal values of freedom, tolerance, equality, and individual rights.[1] Ernest Renan[2] and John Stuart Mill[3] are often thought to be early liberal nationalists. Liberal nationalists often defend the value of national identity by saying that individuals need a national identity in order to lead meaningful, autonomous lives[4] and that liberal democratic polities need national identity in order to function properly.[5]
    Liberal nationalism, also known as civic nationalism or civil nationalism, is the form of nationalism in which the state derives political legitimacy from the active participation of its citizenry (see popular sovereignty), from the degree to which it represents the "general will". It is often seen as originating with Jean-Jacques Rousseau and especially the social contract theories which take their name from his 1762 book The Social Contract.
    Liberal nationalism lies within the traditions of rationalism and liberalism, but as a form of nationalism it is contrasted with ethnic nationalism. Membership of the civic nation is considered voluntary, as in Ernest Renan's classical definition of the nation as a "daily plebiscite" characterized by the "will to live together".[citation needed] Civic-national ideals influenced the development of representative democracy in countries such as the United States and France (see the United States Declaration of Independence of 1776, and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen of 1789).

    Yeah, okay, I can live with liberal nationalism.

    Right wing neo-liberalism:

    Fiscal policy discipline;
    Redirection of public spending from subsidies ("especially indiscriminate subsidies") toward broad-based provision of key pro-growth, pro-poor services like primary education, primary health care and infrastructure investment;
    Tax reform broadening the tax base and adopting moderate marginal tax rates;
    Interest rates that are market determined and positive (but moderate) in real terms;
    Competitive exchange rates;
    Trade liberalization liberalization of imports, with particular emphasis on elimination of quantitative restrictions (licensing, etc.); any trade protection to be provided by law and relatively uniform tariffs;
    Liberalization of inward foreign direct investment;
    Privatization of state enterprises;
    Deregulation abolition of regulations that impede market entry or restrict competition, except for those justified on safety, environmental and consumer protection grounds, and prudent oversight of financial institutions; and,
    Legal security for property rights.

    Okay, that wouldn't be too bad....

    National Socialism:

    National Socialism typically refers to ideologies that promote uniting the working class of a specific ethnic, national, or racial lines into a proletarian nation [1] while opposing capitalism, communism, conservatism, international socialism, liberalism and nations, ethnicities or other groups that are deemed to be repressive of national socialism. This idea was espoused by multiple political movements and leaders, especially in Europe including Enrico Corradini and especially and most predominantly the ideology of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (a.k.a. Nazi Party) led by Adolf Hitler. The form of national socialism utilized by Hitler and groups related to the Nazis are often considered as variants of fascism.

    Ehhhhhh?
