That makes sense. It also makes sense that if your tent were wet it would get muddy laying out to dry. Perhaps we should hang it or set it up to dry?

What else makes sense? I love this.

What makes sense at a given moment in time is situational.

Running to find a bucket of water when there is no fire in front of you does not make sense.

Sitting back and enjoying the breeze blow by you on a sunny, beautiful day makes all the sense in the world.

Rational individuals that are making a conscious effort to live make sense to themselves. Other people might think they are fucking idiots, but that's another issue entirely. :coffee:

On the freeway, Driving in an 'X', so that everyone has space in adjacent lanes to swerve be erratic get passed by motorcycles etc

hate it when someone sits with their front bumper lined up with my rear axle and unconsciously paces off me. not only are they invading my 'space' but also I cant get away from them

It would make sense for someone else to have the can same way others do because it wouldn't stand out. For you, then, efficiency makes sense and is valued more than obeying cultural norms.

So what doesnt make sense? Turning the trash can upside down, but that could even make sense because it would be done for a response.

Even putting it backwards if you couldnt easily acces it could make sense because if the handle is on the back, its easier to roll it out with the handle then to try and push it backwards into that opening.

This is not a good thing to ask a rational

Websters definition of Rationalize: to create an excuse or more attractive explanation of something

When drying wet clothes I will add dry clothes along with the wet. This causes a wicking action. It increases the volume as well as adds more surface area.

So what doesnt make sense?

What doesn't make sense to me, might make sense to you. Yes. There is nothing that doesn't make sense, unless you are trying to do something that doesn't make sense to you, but in a way you might still be getting some pleasure for doing a senseless thing, so it could still make sense.

There's a process called socialization in wich young men are told what makes sense and what doesn't. Further socialisation is made by the mass media. Common sense is one of the most totalitarian ideas ever created by men. Once a thing is common sense it cannot be discussed anymore unless you are ready to be considered a fool.

Unless you move in UK political circles, in which case the phrase "common sense" has become tinged with the stigma of being part of a certain political party's slogan, and therefore an object of public mockery and, finally, associated with ideas of right-wing propaganda like this.

The funny thing about common sense that I see in politics is that the other person will never make sense if you choose to dismiss his reasoning because it doesnt match what you want.

Politics is about making choices, how do you make choices if everything makes sense. So they add "common" to it which allows them to dismiss what others think as not common and make them feel more like an outcast. Thats why its all about the majority, thats what makes it "common".

Personally I find very little makes sense. You can find sense (or even lack thereof) in just about anything so long as you want to and you're clever enough. I guess what I'm saying, as has been stated earlier, is that the sense-making, and therefore the undoing of another's sense-making (or your own, I suppose), is up to the individual in just about every instance. However, just because something makes sense doesn't mean it's true (this is where I stop before I start ranting about my paralyzing existential loop).
