    Not so. The difference between a rock and human, for instance, is that one is animate and organic and the other is not. What I originally meant was that a dog could be called good or evil, depending on its behavior or conformance to human expectations, and that lexical distinction of good or evil wouldn't change the condition of the dog. What would change the dog's condition, perhaps, is a rolled-up newspaper.

    I don't think your assertion or rephrasing of what I said was correct - genuine differences can exist between select objects.
