There's just certain sorts of music which I associate with certain threads. This seemed to go with it. Although that was my frame of mind last night.

I've got that book and have to read it yet, its interesting but its not Jung.

It's not Jung but it's not supposed to be Jung. His writing contains Jungian ideas, but Jungian ideas have become pervasive. Idolatry is a good way to dehumanize someone.

I meant that the writing style was not Jung, I wasnt making a comment upon who innovated the ideas and who was using them (although I would say that archetypes, symbolism etc. existed and Jung just was one of the writers who discovered and conceptualised their significance in a universal psychology).

The Masks of God is excruciatingly extensive; Jung is far easier to read for me.

Its good that there's videos here because they could be clearer than the books, the videos of Erich Fromm which I saw were perhaps as enlightening to me as his books. Jung takes some practice to become readable too but I think after reading a couple of good introductions to the core of his writing became more comprehensible.

I think Freud is a better writer than either of these two but I do think reading Bruno Bettleheim writing about Freud's writings in their original context and prior to translation makes him sound like an even more readable writer and even less of a clinical or jargonistic author.

Pity the country that needs heros. And pity Typology Central.

We have had one hero on Typology Central who has remorsely criticised mbti, Jung and astology. But he has no more left to give and need to pass on the baton.

We need another hero to critique the anneagram and online personality tests. We need another hero to take the flak. We need another hero strong enough to overturn the anneagram. We need another hero to fight impossible odds and win.

We need another hero to celebrate, worship and love.

We need another hero to save us from ourselves.

Will you step up to join the immortals?

I have read that in psychological terms it can also describe the accumulation and processing of new information, moving from conscious into unconscious and to conscious again. In that way it is much more primal and universal.
