I’m going to say this once, and then I won’t be responding to anything else.

As a disciple of Yeshua, I would appreciate it if you stopped posting until you have a radical and heart-changing experience where you are filled with the Holy Spirit and start displaying the fruit of it, thanks. I don’t know your heart or your motives, but I know your fruit - you shall know them by their fruit, and you have bad fruit, man. Your religious behavior is dead - spiritually dead - and everyone can see you trying to spray the perfume of His Word on a rotting corpse and it is instinctively repulsive to everyone, including me. You lack grace, you lack love, you lack His very nature and heart. That book and message is too beautiful, and the people on here too precious, to have it perverted and misrepresented by your behavior and falsehood. If I were you, I would think long and hard about what His feelings are going to be about how you represented Him.

Dude, I can relate to the content of the OP in and of itself, but within the context of this forum it's the equivalent of holding up a John 3:16 poster at a ball game.

I am curious. How has God saved you?

By bringing me under the hearing of the Gospel, convicting me of my utterly sinful nature and total inability to earn acceptance with God on my own merit, giving me a new heart which loves God and the things of God, and giving me total assurance of salvation through the person and finished work of Jesus Christ, my Substitute.

I can't even begin to describe the joy and peace He has given me.

That's the short answer, but there's so much more to it than that. I've been a Christian for over 20 years, and it has been a journey filled with trials, joys, and sorrows--and I'm deeply grateful to my God for all that he's done.

I want the world to know how great my Savior is, and they won't know unless the Word is preached to them.

If what you say about the joy you get from your beliefs is true, I'm happy for you.

My beliefs and theology are markedly different from you own, though I wouldn't deprive you of what you think for that reason.

But in terms of you needing to spread the word on Christianity and Jesus: No, you do not. It's the most prevalent ideology in the world based around probably the single most famous person to ever live. There's people in almost every town and every city in the world explicitly dedicating their time to telling people about it. Whatever issues the Christian faith has, lack of exposure is clearly not one of them.

False Christianity is very prevalent, but relatively few have actually heard the Gospel.

Besides, preaching the Gospel glorifies God whether people receive it or not.

I agree, and I think if you think it's true, then you SHOULD be doing everything you can to share this joy with us. Which is what you're doing. I just don't know if that OP is the best way to do it, though. I doubt any unbelievers are unbelievers because they don't understand the gospel. Though I agree that a lot of them probably don't, I don't think they would be if they did understand it.

Edit: Also: I think evangelism isn't about telling others where they're wrong and how they're wrong, because you'll always be every bit as wrong as they are, even after believing. It's about being utterly stripped of your attempt to sustain your ego because you realize you're utterly worthless, and then it's about realizing how mind blowing God's grace is, and it's an overflow of joy and an enthusiasm to act out of thanks for God and share your joy with other people which results from this process. You shouldn't be evangelizing because you realize how ignorant people are around you and you want to enlighten them.

How are you sinful?

How are you sinful?

In every way, and constantly.

Because Adam fell, God ordained that all humankind would inherit his sinful nature. Consequently, it is natural for me to sin.

Furthermore, anything short of perfect faith and obedience to God is sin, so everything I do is sin--even my best thoughts, words, and deeds.

Then there are the specific sins I have committed at times, and specific sins I struggle with and frequently commit. (I won't confess them to you, but suffice it to say, they run the gamut)

There are past sins and present sins and sins I will commit in the future.

In short, I AM sin, and can do nothing BUT sin.

Therefore, my only hope for acceptance with a holy God is the vicarious substitutionary atonement of the perfectly faithful and obedient Son of God, Jesus Christ.

FYP.

It's funny how I could spend close to 40 years in the church, many of them as a worship musician/leader, and yet I can still find a post like the OP offensive. What do you hope to gain by it?

What in the O.P. is offensive?

Your attitude.
There is no humility in how you position yourself to others.

1 Cor 13 is probably a good place to start in terms of social relations.

This is stupid. I could understand sin being some kind of separation from God; not seeing truth because it is shrouded by the false images of natural world, which would lead a person to seek truth or happiness or whatever in the changing and the many things of the observable world, as opposed to the eternal and undivided being of God, whose word may or may not be presented to us in the Bible.
But why would God ordain that people should be sinful and then send his only son to be tortured to death to atone for that?
Is it because he works in mysterious ways?

Even disregarding the doctrine behind evangelism and just taking a utilitarian standpoint, I think what you're doing isn't the best way of evangelizing. Maybe some people have a better understanding of Christianity, but it's not any more convincing to them than it was before.

Exactly.

The only reason it would be important is if you're trying to maintain the validity of biblical literalism and the centrality of a certain years old literalist interpretation.

Its completely ridiculous. Born of attacks on authority and serious unconscious doubts, even disbelief, resulting in overcompensation, particularly about the sources of that belief, ie scriptures.

This is why I think that the Jews actually know Jesus better than most of the European traditions, at least those which post-date Erasmus, its also their tradition which Jesus came from and he was pretty orthodox within that tradition too. It only makes sense.

There's a guy who ran onto race courses and disrupted races in the UK doing that, the police have his picture now and before big events if they see him they just tackle him and escort him away or to custody, he sees this as persecution for "the word" and all that but there's real evidence which suggests he wants to get killed proclaiming that same word, it seems pretty narcissistic to me.

Despite how the comments are worded, I don't think they're mocking God as much as the attitudes of some of the people talking for Him.
