    I dont think so.

How can you maintain that belief when you consider the life and ministry of Jesus the messiah of the Jews? Whether he was acknowledged as the same or not, he was orthodox in his teachings but sought to simplifiy and popularise it, and it was throughly rejected, as was he eventually.

I think that has happened dozens of times, the later day Christians have repeated so, so many of the mistakes described in the new testament.

I dont know, there's a couple of other people who've done this lately in other threads and who've adopted a sort of head and shoulders above the rest attitude before now on a lot of different topics, politics, philosophy etc.

There's also the people who I've got on ignore and who're really bothered about that and who've attempted repeatedly to engage me on other topics too, I'd suspect them of setting this up as a sort of temptation to re-engage them, proper troll behaviour that one, total and utter communication fails resulting in quickly resorting to manipulation, scripts and games.

Even worse, because if you can't even love yourself and see yourself as god sees you beautiful and w/o sin as you are then how can you have any shred of real love for anyone else?
For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

This is precisely what I think is wrong with protestant fundamentalism and evangelical protestantism, its the theory of predestination and election.

From hells heart a stabbeth thee that concept because it is absolutely ANATHEMA to Jesus, his life, his ministry, his message and anyone at all who is deserving of the label of Christian could not possibly profess it. It is the "choosen people" message revived, only made sectarian rather than racialised as it was by the Jews, that whole idea was throughout by Jesus and then by the twelve in the universality of their beliefs, hence the repeated mention of Samaritans, Syrophenicans, Hellenists etc.

It has all been missed and lost AGAIN. The error just repeats itself afresh.

    Absolutely!

Anyone acting that way couldnt possible practice the golden rule to love others as you love yourself, in fact that would mean condemn others as you've condemned yourself, which is frequently what does happen, making people miserable in this life and probably making them incapable of enjoying any afterlife either.
